The Ministry of Care Certification Program, sponsored by the Ministry Formation Office of the Diocese of Rockford, prepares men and women for leadership in creating and supervising parish programs that offer compassionate pastoral ministry to the homebound and hospitalized, to the elderly, terminally ill or grieving and their loved ones.
The program involves seven Saturday sessions (once a month from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM). Running from September through April, each session includes assigned reading from key Church documents and other theological and pastoral literature. Classes are facilitated by qualified and experienced professionals in the field of parish pastoral care.
