ACT Scores for Rockford Diocesan High School Seniors Once Again Top State & National Averages!!

The Catholic Education Office is pleased to announce that ACT scores for 990 seniors who took the exam in 2012 were once again significantly higher than state and national averages. The 990 students represent over 97% of all seniors enrolled in our Catholic high schools.

Our Diocesan composite score (the composite is the average of all four sub-tests of the ACT: English Math, Reading & Science) was 3.1 points higher than the state average (24.0 Diocese; 20.9 State) and 3.0 higher than the national average (24.0 Diocese; 21.0 National).

Also, a much higher percentage of our Catholic high schools seniors (15% higher) achieved College Readiness standards in English, Algebra, Biology and Social Science than did their counterparts at the state and national levels. The benchmarks scores for College Readiness are:

English Composition 18 on the ACT
College Algebra    22 on the ACT
Social Science  21 on the ACT
 Biology  24 on the ACT

These results are great news for our students, our schools and our parents and families! The education system in our Diocese continues to produce successful graduates who will go on to be the future Catholic leaders of our world. If you are looking for a high quality Catholic school in Northern Illinois for your children we ask you to consider one of the 40 elementary or 8 high schools located in the Rockford Diocese.
