2024 Ministry Formation Theological Workshop
A Theological Workshop is a unique opportunity for you to explore topics of faith that match your interests. Its primary focus is to gain a greater understanding of the topic. This is different from our Ministerial Specialization Day, on March 29, which focuses on applied knowledge and best practices for effective service in a particular ministry.
The day will consist of three one-hour sessions, each on a different topic. Please rank the following topics 1-6. 1 being of the most interest to you and 6 being the least. We will do our best to match you with your top three choices.
Topics
- Our Lady of Guadalupe: Explore the miraculous events, message, and relevance of this Marian apparition to the Americas.
- A Catholic Response to Gender Theory: Explore the assertions of “gender theory” in light of a Catholic theological and anthropological perspective.
- The Seven Deadly Sins and Seven Heavenly Virtues: Explore how sin attacks us through our particular weaknesses, but God superabundantly offers us the grace to conquer this sin and heal our fallen human nature.
- Claims of the Protestant Reformation: Explore the claims of the Protestant Reformation, their effect on Christian thinking, and the Catholic response to faith alone, Bible alone, and grace alone.
- Healthy Ministry Dynamics: Explore best practices that help to ensure that you and the ministries you serve stay healthy and mission focused.
- Making Sense of Suffering: Explore how we as Christians, grapple with the reality of suffering, loss, and death, while still holding fast to the promises of Jesus.
